Jacqueline S. Chambers, 50, of Springfield died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice from ovarian cancer. Jacqueline was born June 30, 1953 in Harvey, IL, daughter of William A. and Dortha Sellers Chambers. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Jacqueline was a facilitator at Cathedral Bible Study and also served as an officer of the Cathedral Council of Catholic Women. She was a volunteer at the Marian Center, Animal Protective League and St. John’s Hospital. Jacqueline received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in music from Millikin University and later earned her nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Decatur.
 
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one brother: Joseph P. (wife, Mary) Hamilton of Chicago and one sister, M. Lynn Peters of Prairie Village, KS. Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Peter Harman celebrant. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Marrowbone Cemetery, Bethany, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marian Center, 313 E. Monroe, Springfield, IL 62701 The family of Jacqueline Chambers is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
