Luther David Truitt        1952 - 2010

 

Luther Truitt moved to Dixmoor with his family in 1955 (one of 6 children of Eddie and Harriett Truitt). He attended McKinley Grammar school, and Thornton High School. In the early 70's...Luther served in the Vietnam War, and returned to Dixmoor, where he was employed at Union Pacific railroad and South Suburban hospital. He was a loving gentle man, full of generosity. His passion for his family was always evident. Luther Truitt was a courageous warrior...he battled cancer, and made his transition with dignity. His spirit remains. His legacy lives on.
