Richard Whennen 
      Richard "Rich" Whennen, 46, died Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital. 
      He was born March 7, 1952, in Chicago. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a truck driver, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a five-year resident of Las Vegas. 
      He is survived by his companion, Annette Weber of Las Vegas; daughter, Rachel of Louisville, Ill.; mother, Mary of Las Vegas; and sisters, Diane Peterson of Lake Tahoe, Connie Mailhoit of Las Vegas and Gayle Willman of Boulder City. 
      Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern, where services will be at 6 p.m. Monday. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
