Grade School...wow...thats hard to write

So many good times that picking out a few is hard.

I guess the winter of 67 comes to mind the most for me. Walking from a snow drift, right on the roof of the Jr. High...serious...the north side had drifted within 2 feet of the roof line! Nick Falica and I decided to see just how close we could get to the roof...the answer was...ALL THE WAY TO THE ROOF...we didnt get caught...cause...there was no police able to drive the roads.

We had many other wonderful times at our grade school...including dances that allowed us to slow dance with our best girls...wow...what a thrill it was.

But the best memories I have were of the teachers. How lucky we were to have such a great group of people who were educators...not just there to have summers off...but to make us want to learn as much as we could. Thank God for our Sandberg teachers...I will always have a special place in my heart for them.

Hope all from my class are happy and healthy...

 Hi Dennis,
I was stuck at Ascension during the Big Storm of '67 since the school buses could not get through to take us home. I had to walk down to my Grandmother's house and spend the week there with no appropriate clothes (just the ol' school uniform) to go out and have fun in the snow....boo hooo! You and Nick had a much better time than I did!!!!

Hi, Dennis,

As one of your classmates at Sandburg, I really used to get a kick our of your "Donald Duck" impression.  Do you still do that?

Actually, you have been one that has come to mind anytime I have seen your brother Tom on TV.

I, too, remember the snowstorm in January of '67.  It was the first time they ever closed the school, and while Mom was watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night, the house started to shake.  They were using a 3 story earthmover to clear the street.  We found out later that the snowplows from the city were breaking down.

You mentioned the teachers of Sandburg.  They had an impact on my life - Miss Otten, Mrs Fisher, Mrs Bentley, and even Miss Karney (the French teacher), and Mr Love - remember Science class?

Anyway, greetings and all of God's best to my classmates.  I hope to see you at the reunion, but I do not know yet if I will be able to make it.
